This ritual is performed to pacify the Mul Nakshatra dosh, ensuring prosperity, health, and well-being for the individual born under certain inauspicious lunar constellations. During the puja, the 27-holed handi is filled with water, symbolizing purity and divine blessings. Mantras and offerings are made to invoke planetary harmony, seek ancestral blessings, and neutralize any negative effects of the nakshatra. The handi is later immersed or placed in a sacred location as per Vedic traditions.
